wows Hampton Manor
Tim Anderson the winner of the BBC Masterchef 2011 returned to Hampton Manor recently.
The evening was an American themed gastronomic experience which commenced with a cocktail reception. Diners enjoyed a menu which consisted of courses from around the USA. As a starter the guests were served Shrimp and Grits (South Carolina), Creamy polenta with Korean chilli prawns and chicken jus, both were delicious.
This was followed by a fish course of tartare of sea trout with samphire in a sesame and soy glaze and a vegetarian option of tartare of tomatoes and sea vegetables. For the next course guests were delighted by clambake from Massachusetts, scallop, mussel and crab chowder with edible sand and sea vegetables and an interesting vegetarian option of potato, sweetcorn and Jerusalem artichoke chowder.
The next course from Illinois consisted of Chicago Hot Dog (Illinois), braised ox cheeks with “Chicago seven” accoutrements and a vegetarian option of mushroom arancini again with Chicago seven accoutrements. Finally Key Lime Pie from Florida was a Lime cheesecake with a difference. As ever the audience thoroughly enjoyed an evening with the masterchef.
